Nondiscriminatory Policy
Students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin are admitted to all the rights, privileges, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at Grove Avenue Christian School. GACS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in its administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletic, or other school-administered programs.
Enrollment
Grove
Avenue Christian School does not discriminate on the basis
of race, color, national origin, or ethnic background of any student in
admissions or administration of its policies and programs. Our mission
is to assist Christian families to obtain Biblical and academic education
of their children. Attendance at GACS is a privilege. We require our applicants
to meet the following criteria:
1. At
least one parent of the student must be a professing Christian. However,
high school students may also be considered if they profess Christ
and desire to be a part of the school and whose parents are willing
to have their child attend the school and agree to cooperatively
support the standards of the school.
2. The
Christian parent(s) and the student must be regularly attending and,
as a general rule, also a member participating in ministries or additional
activities in a Christian church.
3. Family
beliefs and practices should be consistent with the standards, doctrines,
and values of the school. A student should either be a professing
Christian or, by attitudes and behavior, show evidence of favorable
considering such a decision. Obviously, children do not all arrive
at understanding and conviction on spiritual matters at the same
age. In a case where a student or parent is unwilling to support
the standards, doctrines, and values of the school, the student may
be denied enrollment or re-enrollment.
4. Students
applying for admission to Grove Avenue Christian School must be academically
capable of being educated at GACS. They must show through placement
tests and prior grades that they can perform within the acceptable
range established by GACS. GACS reserves the right to place a student
in a lower grade level class based on significant academic deficiencies
in that area.
5. Grove
Avenue Christian School is not in a position to provide specialized
resources or services required by students with individual learning
needs.
Re-enrollment: Each student's status will be reviewed yearly, and Grove Avenue Christian
School reserves the right to deny any re-enrollment request based on a
student's
behavior, behavioral record, or academic record during the immediate preceding
school year.
