About Us
Grove
Avenue Christian School was established in 1978 as one of
the many ministries of Grove Avenue Baptist Church. Located in the church's modern
facilities "on the hill," the school offers Christian education in grades
K3 through high school. We believe that Christian education is
an extension of the Christian home and should be established in conjunction
with parents in training young people for an abundant Christian life in
the real world (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
Purpose
God
commands parents to bring up children in "...nurture and admonition of
the Lord..."(Ephesians 6:4). His Word is the only adequate
standard for true education (John 17:17), and should
permeate each area of our children's daily lives so they may love the
Lord, walk in His way, and serve Him faithfully (Deuteronomy 11:18,
22). Therefore, we believe that Grove Avenue Baptist Church should
establish a Christian school under the authority of our pastoral leadership (John 10:1-5).
Statement
of Faith
Grove
Avenue Church upholds the following doctrines of our Christian faith:
| A. | The inspiration of the Bible, equally in all parts and without error in its origin. |
| B. | The one God, eternally existent Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who created man by a direct and immediate act. |
| C. | The preexistence, incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutional death, bodily resurrection, ascension to Heaven, and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| D. | The fall of man, the need of regeneration by the operation of the Holy Spirit on the basis of grace alone, and the resurrection of all to life or damnation determined by each individual's personal decision to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. |
| E. | The spiritual relationship of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, living a life of righteous works, separated from the world, witnessing of His saving grace through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. |
